This was the first year that any written record was taken of who attended the swim. Thanks are due to Brigid Noonan for taking this initiative! Three turn buoys were set out at 0.5 km, 1.0 km and 1.5 km from the start/finish point, giving everyone the option of swimming 1 km, 2 km or 3 km. A few of those present opted to swim 1.7 km, the same distance as a lap of Sandycove Island. Here is the record of those who swam:
